Do you have commercial experience in health and social care sectors, or perhaps you’re a practising human rights lawyer? If so, we’d love you to consider becoming a Trustee for The Advocacy Project.
The Advocacy Project is truly innovative in what they do and how they do it. This is illustrated in how they co-produce and design their services with the people who use them.
It’s important that you understand this, as it’s at the heart of the charity and as a Trustee you’ll embrace and champion the way The Advocacy Project includes diverse voices of lived and professional experiences.
We’re looking for two new Trustees who can bring their expertise as well as values-led leadership to a highly committed Board. We’re particularly interested in hearing from people with the following experience:
Commercial experience possibly in the health and social care sectors;
National policy role in relation to health and social care;
Practising human rights lawyer.
They’re a one of a kind Trustee Board, who operate as Unitary Board which means that CEO, Judith Davey is a full trustee with equal responsibility.
They’re looking for:
A track record in strategic senior leadership;
People who can ask probing questions and hold management to account;
Someone who shares their values, ambition and belief that every voice counts.
What’s in it for you?
You’ll join a highly committed, people-centred organisation with a track record of growth and reputation for innovation, quality and learning.
With your skills, you’ll help further the strategic vison of the charity, while learning the power and importance of building services around people’s actual need.
If you join The Advocacy Project, you’ll have an in-depth induction, be matched with a buddy, attend staff training and as part of your ongoing governance development, you’ll attend the annual NCVO conference.
The Board and associated sub-committees meet every quarter on the same day, usually an afternoon.
We’d anticipate this role requiring a day a month commitment spread over that time period.
